Sticks and Stones

Last week Mrs McVey gave us each a little person to colour in. We were really proud of the way we had coloured them. But then we were told to pass them to the next person who could scribble on it, rip it, fold it or bend it. We couldn't believe our ears! It was a bit strange wrecking someone else's work! The whole point of the activity was about the saying "Sticks and Stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" Well......actually they do. We decided we didn't want to have a classroom with mean people who said mean things and wrecked our work. So now we are working in groups to decide what kind of class we want. We are going to create some class rules so we can have a great day at school and enjoy learning.

What a great idea to get across an important message. No wonder Ella tells me what nice kids she has in her class. I think a blog is a cool idea. From Ella's mum -Rowena

So good to have parents and grandparents on board. We like having visitors seeing what we are learning in our class:)
